It is my belief that in order to not be negatively impacted by this book that you should be the type of person that is already in the process of actively avoiding their temptations but acknowledge that they want to do an even better job. I don't understand why they took the book in this direction and I had to repeatedly tell myself to think of the true intentions of the book instead of reliving the same circumstances that brought me to read/listen to this book in the first place. Much like an alcoholic, it would not be beneficial to sit with a bottle of alcohol and relish over every exiting thought of raising the glass and tasting it. They may very well have had a specific intention in doing this, but the extent that they went to describe details of their encounters and actions made it very hard for me to believe that they truly were healed of their sinful thoughts. I say this because they truly are deliberate in describing their personal circumstance and behaviors in detail that did little to curtail the sin and craving that we are actively struggling with. I often wondered if this book was more a confession of their own doings than something written specifically to save others from what they suffered through. The choice to be so graphic is controversial and for me off-putting to the point where I nearly quit listening/reading the book several times. This book has VERY explicit descriptions of how the authors looked at and thought of the opposite sex in ways that negatively effected what they were trying to convey in their stories.
